Today Whaea Sarah bought in some trade aid, fair trade chocolate.  She bought it in because one of the reading groups read a book about fair trade chocolate and they had to find out where the cacao beans in the story were made into chocolate and she said if they she would get it for them. AND SHE DID!!!!!  It was soooo yummy.🤤 Fair trade means that the cacao bean growers get a fair wage so they can buy food and rent and other things you need to live.

On Wednesday it was school picture day Whaea Sarah took a picture of me and Gracie then Tristam came over for the photo too.

Last week we did 2d shape posters we had to research a 2d shape and then present it to the class, I did a parallelogram for my 2d shape. This week we did a 3d shape we had to do the exact same, I did a  pentagonal prism for my 3d shape. We had to research information, uses and facts.  I now feel more confident now that I know that no one is going to judge me.

Yesterday there was a show called think and be me with cat and willi. It was about handling your emotions and worry’s. Some of our teachers had to go on stage , Tina was the Cool cat, Rob was the little girl and Whaea Sarah was Stinking thing ( a fly).The show was sponsored by Rotary. So afterward there was a sport afternoon with sack races, 3 legged races and lots more other fun things. There  were even ice blocks.  During the  sports,  a person wore a cat costume and came around and gave everyone hugs and high fives.

Each Wednesday we will have to do an activiy from each of the matariki stars. This Wednesday I did an activity from Hiwa-I-Te-Rangi. It was a collage about my family and my passions. We had to make it out of magazine photos. Each star has three or four activities,  we can only do one. We are supposed to be finished 1 activity from each star by the end of the term. A lot of my friends did the same one as me.

Camp was three days long,  at camp we went to Cape Reinga. We learnt the history of Tohe. At the the camp we did watersliding, slippery hockey, kayaking and obstical course and Gaga ball. Gaga ball is like dodgeball but it is everyone for themselves and you can only hit it once and not catch the ball. On Wednesday we went to Taipa and did sailing, paddle boarding , jumping of the wharf and learning to tie different types of knots. On Tuesday night we played spotlight and watched a movie.

In art on Monday we have been doing an artist study. I am doing Andy Warhol. For our artist study we are doing an A3 page of information, and a peice of art in their style. I learnt that Andy Warhol pretty much created pop art. So for my piece of art I obvously did pop art.

We have 2 weeks to get ready for our big circus show.  Next week we will have to decide what we are doing for the big show. This week I learnt how to pedal the pedal roller correctly without falling off. For the big show I think I will do fans.

This week on Tuesday we had swimming sports I did freestyle, backstoke, breaststoke, butterfly and the house group relay. I did 13 laps in total. In my heats there was Gracie, Molly and Ariya. In the house group relay I did it with Jay-Jay, Molly, Bayden and me.
